THE
SACROMONTE is situated on
a hill above the city of Granada, overlooking the famous Alhambra
Palace. Although it is only 25 minutes walking distance or 10 minutes by bus from the bustling city centre,
this area has a quiet tranquility more like a village. It is famous

INFORMATION:
The studio apartment is basically a large room
of about 35m2 divided into 4 areas. It is suitable for a couple or
a single person. The arches dividing the
bedroom, kitchen and bathroom, the unique 1950's coloured floor tiles
and the ironwork table and chairs, give this apartment its own very
original style.
FACILITIES:
Bedroom
The bedroom,
with a window looking out onto the patio, has a double bed and cable
TV. The halogen lamps fitted with dimmer switches allow you to choose
the level of lighting you require. A clean set of sheets is provided
per week.
Kitchen
The kitchen,
small but well designed, is fully equipped with fridge and vitro ceramic
cooking unit (no oven). Plenty of shelving space for food and crockery.
Bathroom
The bathroom,
with two windows overlooking the patio has an electric water heater
for its shower, washbasin and bidet. Soap and two clean towels per week
will be provided. View of the Generalife, the summer palace of the Alhambra.
Lounge
The lounge has a traditional stone tiled floor, sofa, TV, table and
chairs.
Air-conditioning / heating
The house has a powerful 4000 calorie Samsung air- conditioning unit which give
heating as well as cooling in summer.
Courtyard
There is a large internal patio with a yucca
tree, a vine, and a sweet smelling jasmine. The patio shares a common entrance
from the street with the cave apartment which many years ago was a
Tablao Flamenco. This is a great place to sit out in the evenings.
PROPERTY HISTORY:
The original owner was a nationally
famous flamenco dancer in the 1920's and 1930's. The cave neaxt to
the apartment was used as
a 'zambra' or flamenco dance hall, where the owner's dancing
attracted writers, poets, musicians and celebrities from all over Spain.
During
the late
1920's, one of her most renowned acquaintances was Spain's internationally
famed poet and playwrite Federico García Lorca. Federico was known
to frequent the caves, and a small plaque
dedicated
in his honour still exists in the caves today, along with floor tiles
bearing the names of his most famous plays.

BOOKING:
To book the apartment it is necessary
to pay a downpayment of 25% of the full price in advance.
PARKING:
You can park in the
street near to the house for free if you wish.
Note that it is only possible to enter this area in a private car
between 2pm and 8 pm.
On arrival
we recommend that you use the Severo Ochoa underground car park.
The price is only 30 euros for up to 1 week with a special long stay
week ticket which allows you to come and go as often as you like.
