Typical bar: Taberna Chavarino

Riding School "Picadero de caballos los Córdoba"

Opens every evening at 8.30 PM and on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays at noon.

The owner is called Javier. Here you can drink wine, and try some of the tapas or dishes. In the summer, you can sit in the cool of the patio and in winter around the warmth of the fireplace or even on the patio if it's sunny.

Chavarino's customers are very varied, from local farmers, to people from the city or even tourists who have stopped off on their journey for a break and a glass of wine.

It's very close; you can even walk there (20 min).

Just follow the map and you won't get lost.

Telephone number for reservations: 958 34 01 30

The "Picadero de caballos los Córdoba" Riding Club is very close to the cortijo  (about 150m).

It's a family-run riding school. The owner's name is Paco.

Many people keep their horses here, and many people who don't have horses come here at the weekends to ride. Sometimes, they give lessons to beginners.

If you like horses, you can visit the school. The people are very friendly and if you're interested in riding you should talk to Paco and find a moment to go for a ride. You can fix a price with him, and it will depend on the number of people and the time.

Sierra Nevada

Nature

Skiing

If you like hiking, we can take you on some beautiful excursions in the middle part of the Sierra Nevada. From Güejar Sierra you can walk along the path of the Estrella to the end of the Barranco de San Juan, following the course of the River Genil between a deciduous forest and with the impressive backdrop of the high peaks of the Sierra Nevada.

You can also get to the small village of Monachil and from there follow the course of the river, walking through a spot known as the Cahorros. There are also some excellent outdoor bars to have tapas.

The reserve's Centro de Interpretación (the Dornajo) is on the road going up to the ski resort. Here there is very detailed information about all the wonders that the Sierra contains.

The ski resort is 32km away.

To get there, you will need to take the Granada ring road and go towards Ronda Sur. This is well signposted

At the end of the Ronda Sur there is a tunnel, where you should take the right-hand lane to go to Sierra Nevada and the left-hand one to go to the Alhambra.
