Bad Things: To get to the house, you have to go up a short street where there is a barking dog which sometimes smells. This problem only affects you when you go past - it will not affect your stay in the house in any way. We only mention this because it can create a bad impression on arrival.

BBY Baby's travel cot is available (please request beforehand).

1 bedroom: 2 single bunk beds. 190cm, (the bunk beds are big enough for adults) 1 large wardrobe.

Kitchen: fridge, microwave, 2 electric hobs, washing machine, kettle, toaster, cooking utensils, cutlery, cleaning equipment, iron and ironing board, teapot, etc.

Lounge/dining room: Good quality Futon sofa bed which is comfortable for both sitting and sleeping, rectangular coffee table, dining table with seating for 6 people, colour cable television (62 international channels: BBC World, CNN, D.WELLE, TV5, etc.), computer with permanent FREE WI-FI ADSL connection, video player, DVD player, the computer has some speakers and there are a lot of mp3 files to listen to.

Bathroom: washbasin, WC, shower, mirror, automatic anti-scald mixer taps. 75 litre immersion heater.

Heating: There are 2 powerful air-conditioning units of 3000 calories each. This is equivalent to a 6000 watt electric radiator. There is also small electric radiator in the bathroom.

Terraza/Private street: There is an area outside the holiday house with a table and chairs where you can sit, eat and look at the Alhambra, etc.

Other points: The house is detached and not connected to other houses. It is not possible to hear the neighbours through the walls.

This house is ideally located. It is 1 minute away from the nearest bus stop and only a 15-minute walk to Plaza Nueva (the absolute centre of Granada), with the Cathedral and Royal Chapel nearby.

The buses 32 (Alhambra & Albaicín) and 31 (Albaicín) go past about every 10 minutes and you can catch these from Plaza Nueva. Click here to see the bus map and the stops where you can catch the bus. It circles the Albaicín and then goes down into the centre of Granada.

Walking down the hill, you will quickly get to Paseo de los Tristes at the foot of the Alhambra with its many terrazas and bars and restaurants. This is the perfect setting particularly at night when the illuminated Alhambra forms an impressive backdrop.

Walking up from the house, you will get to Plaza Larga with its shops, banks, cash points, chemists, bars, restaurants, and Saturday flower market. This is the very centre of the Albaicín. There is also a Spar supermarket further up.

Plaza San Nicolas with its spectacular views of the Alhambra and Sierra Nevada is only a 10-minute walk away or the bus also stops just below. Another famous Albaicín square is Plaza San Miguel Bajo and this is a popular eating place for Spaniards and tourists alike, particularly on Sundays.

If you walk down to Paseo de Los Tristes, you can take the scenic route up to entrance the Alhambra. It takes about 10 minutes to walk up and is much the nicest way to get there: there are beautiful views of the Albaicín and Sacromonte, and you walk round the outside of the Alhambra. Alternatively, you can catch the 32 bus and this will take you up the grounds of the Alhambra and the ticket office.

Parking: When you arrive it is best to use the public underground car park, it takes approx 8 minutes to get to the car park by taxi. With a special "bono" ticket the car park only costs 30 euros for any length of time up to a week. It is possible to come and go without having to buy a new ticket.

If you really want, you can park for free in the street near the holiday house.

Traffic is restricted in this area and private cars can only enter between 2pm and 8pm.

Mobility: There are no stairs in the house but it is necesary to go up 22 steps to get up to the house. This is no problem for my 80 year old father but if you are very unfit or have walking difficulties please don't choose this house. It would be impossible to get to the house in a wheelchair.

CONDITIONS:
To book the house, you must pay a down payment of one quarter in advance. You must pay the rest on arrival.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
If the reservation is cancelled more than 30 days before the arrival date, the deposit paid by credit card will be refunded. If the reservation is cancelled fewer than 30 days before the arrival date, the deposit will not be refunded. If the reservation is not cancelled and the guest never arrives, the guest is liable to pay the full amount.

ARRIVAL:
We will send you full arrival instructions (telephone numbers, how to get to the best car park, etc.) in the booking confirmation email.

The official arrival time is between 14.00 and 24.00. The official departure time is before 12.00. It is sometimes possible to arrive earlier if you arrange this with the owners directly. If there is a flight delay, you must phone and let us know.
